Ranch & Viticulture Manager
Sergio has been at Windmill Vineyard since 2011. As Ranch and Viticulture Manager, he oversees everything from soil health and irrigation to pruning, pest prevention, and harvest timing. Under his care, the vineyard has earned organic certification and consistently produced fruit that winemakers and oil millers seek out by name.
The vineyard's olive oils have won multiple gold medals and best-of-class awards worldwide — a direct reflection of how Sergio and his crew manage every tree and vine.
Sergio's approach is hands-on and daily. His crew prunes every vine by hand, walks the rows checking for early signs of stress, and harvests under night skies to protect the fruit at its coolest. As he puts it: 'When you walk through these rows, you feel it — the vines are alive, the trees are happy, and they're giving something back.'

Founder & Proprietor
Jeff Morgan founded JDM Farms with a clear idea: find the right piece of land, farm it well, and let the fruit speak for itself. When he first visited the property that would become Windmill Vineyard, he saw what it could be — and set about building it, varietal by varietal, acre by acre.
His goal was never volume — it was quality. He built the organic program from the ground up, chose varietals suited to the Dunnigan Hills climate, and brought on Sergio Villanueva to lead the farming with the same standard of care.
"We work with many small to medium sized wineries. They've invested, many times, their life savings, and definitely their heart and soul into creating a wine they want their customers to love. Just as much as what we produce here is a personal reflection on me, their wine is a personal reflection on them."
Today, a select portion of Windmill Vineyard's harvest is reserved for the JDM Estate label — wines and olive oils that reflect the land Jeff and Sergio have spent years building together.
